The guitars are traditional three and four-string cigar box guitars. The necks are hard maple, hand-carved with a "C" profile. and have a traditional headstock, as well as sealed tuners. The guitars can be tuned to open G, open E or open D.
Fretboards are walnut, Bolivian rosewood, padauk, wenge or purpleheart with medium/medium nickel-silver frets and a jumbo zero fret.
A pickup sounds its best with as few items between the output jack and the amp. That's why Stogie Joe guitars have just a volume knob.
