July 5, 2023 was a Red Letter day in my life! I officially retired from what have always called the "real world"! I have been fortunate to spend the latter part of my life as the Zoning Administrator/Environmental Officer for 2 counties here in Iowa. Although I truly loved my job and the people I worked with, the public perception of Government Employees and what we do has changed drastically over the past few years. Thanks to social media, keyboard warriors and their mob mentality have realized that they can/should disrupt how Government works, not realizing we have codes, rules and ethics we must abide by. Over the past 2 years I have been personally attacked for being neutral and not agreeing with the 10%. Thus earlier this year (with my wonderful wife's blessing) I decided to retire. It was definitely the best decision I could have made. I now have the time that I have always hoped to have to work on - Honey Do lists, Bucket list items and most of all music!

It's been less than a month since my Retirement Day and I'm already more relaxed and have started on a bunch of new music. Both Jill and I have a lot of things going on in the next few weeks that I'll be expanding on in future posts such as the ISSA Awards Show next weekend (I'm up for 4 awards!), the Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper show in Omaha the following weekend and a great huge festival I'm playing on Labor Day weekend. I'll also expand on what has happened over the past few months as well.

Until then, have a GREAT DAY Everyone!
